School Experience Opportunities

If you are interested in a career in teaching, the Academy offers Internships, School Experience Days and School Experience Programmes in all subjects.

Initial Teacher Training (ITT)

The Academy has an excellent reputation and pedigree with regards to Initial Teacher Training (ITT). It was the Lead School in The Eastwood and Leigh Graduate Training Programme Partnership from 2000-2013 and is now a key strategic partner with a number of ITT providers e.g. Kings College, Greenwich University, Essex Teacher Training and Southend SCITT.

If you are interested in following an ITT route, the Academy is able to offer a wide variety of both salaried and non-salaried training opportunities.

Eastwood Park Academy Trust ITT

The Eastwood Academy is the Lead School in The Eastwood Park Academy Trust (EPAT). In conjunction with Essex Teacher Training, we provide trainee teacher positions across a local network of schools in the Southend area.  

The following schools work within our partnership:

  • The Eastwood Academy.
  • Bournemouth Park.
  • Leigh North Primary.
  • Kingsdown Primary.
  • Thorpedene Primary.

We currently have positions available for salaried and fee-paying trainees - bursaries up to £30,00, in both secondary and primary sector.

Applications need to be made through UCAS (www.ucas.com).

You must meet the following requirements prior to application:

  • A degree at 2:2 or above.
  • At least a GCSE level C or above in English and Maths (and Science if Primary).
  • Proven experience of working with children.
