Top Sporting State Schools in 2018

English Schools Cross Country Regional Final

Reading2Congratulations to the Junior and Inter Boys' teams who have qualified for the National Finals on 24th November at Woodbridge School.

The final standings at the Regional Cross Country Final on Saturday 10th November were: Junior Boys - 1st; Intermediate Boys - 2nd; Intermediate Girls - 4th; and Junior Girls – 7th.


DfE School Performance Tables - October Release

Reading2On 16th October, the DfE's School and College Performance Tables were published. The Academy recorded a Progress 8 score of 0.61, placing it in the top 14% of schools nationally - DfE Performance Tables. The Academy was the only non-selective school in Southend and South East Essex in the category 'well above average' i.e. was the highest ranked non-selective school. English Schools Cross Country Trials


Congratulations to the Junior Girls', Inter Girls', Junior Boys' and Inter Boys' Cross Country Teams who all qualified for the Regional Final in Suffolk on 10th November.



Year 7 Parental Information Evening


On Monday 1st October, parents of Year 7 pupils attended an information evening covering the transition from primary-secondary school, the role they play in supporting their child, and an e-safety presentation from Mr. G. Collard (former Police Liaison Officer).

University of Greenwich’s PGCE Mathematics Programme


On Friday 14th September, the Academy welcomed over 30 PGCE students from Greenwich University to experience high quality mathematics teaching in one of the most successful subject departments in the country.
