English Schools National Athletics Final
Congratulations to the Junior Girls', Inter Girls', Junior Boys' and Inter Boys' Athletics Teams who all qualified for the National Final at Gateshead on Saturday 7th July.
Visit to Number 10
Congratulations to Natalie B. who attended a trip to Number 10 Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament on Friday 18th May. The private tour was in recognition of Natalie's charitable work, the most recent of which, along with Megan R, raised £400 for the residents of Attwood’s Manor Care Home.
Ofsted Inspection - Thursday 8th March
The Academy was subject to a section 8 Ofsted inspection on Thursday 8th March. There were four possible outcomes from this particular type of inspection and the Academy achieved the highest possible outcome i.e. ‘The school remains good and there is sufficient evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school may be judged outstanding if it received a section 5 inspection now'. DfE School Performance Tables
On 25th January, the DfE's School and College Performance Tables were published. The Academy recorded a Progress 8 score of 0.70, placing it in the top 6% of schools nationally - DfE Performance Tables. Of the 31 schools in Essex and Southend, the Academy is the highest ranked non-selective school. It is also ranked 3rd in a list of 55 similar schools nationally - Progress 8 Scores. Girls' Football Team
Congratulations to the U14 Girls’ Football Team who beat FitzWimarc 3-1 in the semi-final of the Essex Cup on 22nd January. This will be the 8th time a girls' team from the Academy has made the Essex Cup Final.
With an U15 National Cup quarter final and an U13 Essex Cup semi-final still to be played, the season is already turning out to be incredibly successful.
Essex Cross Country Championship
Congratulations to Megan Harris who won the Essex Cross Country Championship on Saturday 2nd December and will represent Essex at the UK Final in March.
